Narada Purana — Purva Bhaga, Shloka 56

Daśamī-vrata: Observances for the Bright Tenth Day Through the Twelve Months

कृत्वा स्वर्णमयान्विप्र गंधाद्यैरुपचारकैः । आत्मा ह्यायुर्मनो दक्षो मदः प्राणस्तथैव च ॥ ५६ ॥

kṛtvā svarṇamayānvipra gaṃdhādyairupacārakaiḥ | ātmā hyāyurmano dakṣo madaḥ prāṇastathaiva ca || 56 ||

Wahai brāhmaṇa, setelah membentuk (arca suci) daripada emas dan memuliakannya dengan persembahan seperti wangian dan sebagainya—hendaklah difahami bahawa Ātman itu sendiri ialah usia hayat, minda, kecekapan, keteguhan, dan juga nafas hayat (prāṇa).
