The Narration of the Navamī Vow Observed Across the Twelve Months
सनातन उवाच । अथ वक्ष्यामि विप्रेंद्र नवम्यास्ते व्रतानि वै । यानि कृत्वा नरा लोके लभंते वांछितं फलम् ॥ १ ॥
sanātana uvāca | atha vakṣyāmi vipreṃdra navamyāste vratāni vai | yāni kṛtvā narā loke labhaṃte vāṃchitaṃ phalam || 1 ||
Sanātana berkata: Sekarang, wahai yang terbaik di antara para brāhmaṇa, akan aku jelaskan segala vratā yang harus dipelihara pada hari Navamī. Dengan melaksanakannya, manusia di dunia ini memperoleh buah yang dihajati.
