Droṇa–Dhṛṣṭadyumna-yuddha (द्रोण-धृष्टद्युम्न-युद्धम्) — Tactical duel and allied interventions

मुहूर्तमिव तद्‌ युद्धमासीन्मधुरदर्शनम्‌ | तत उन्मत्तवद्‌ राजन न प्राज्ञायत किंचन,महाराज! दो घड़ीतक तो वह युद्ध देखनेमें बड़ा मनोरम प्रतीत हुआ; फिर उन्मत्तकी भाँति विकट युद्ध चलने लगा। उस समय किसीको कुछ सूझ नहीं पड़ता था

muhūrtam iva tad yuddham āsīn madhuradarśanam | tata unmatta-vad rājan na prājñāyata kiñcana ||

Sañjaya berkata: “Untuk seketika, pertempuran itu tampak seolah-olah indah dipandang; tetapi kemudian, wahai Raja, ia meluap menjadi kegilaan yang mengerikan seperti orang dirasuk. Pada saat itu, tiada seorang pun dapat melihat apa-apa dengan jelas.”
