Liṅga hendaklah dibuat daripada vaiḍūrya (batu mata kucing). Pada bulan Puṣya, ia boleh dibuat daripada puṣparāga (topaz); pada bulan Māgha daripada sūryakānta (sunstone); dan pada bulan Phālguna daripada sphāṭika (kristal).
