Pāśupata-vrata Māhātmya: Dvādaśa-Liṅga Mahāvrata, Month-wise Dravya, and Pūjā-krama

आश्विने चैव विप्रेन्द्राः गोमेदकमयं शुभम् प्रवालेनैव कार्तिक्यां तथा वै मार्गशीर्षके

āśvine caiva viprendrāḥ gomedakamayaṃ śubham pravālenaiva kārtikyāṃ tathā vai mārgaśīrṣake

Wahai yang terbaik dalam kalangan Brahmin! Pada bulan Āśvina, hendaklah dipersembahkan sedekah yang bertuah daripada gomeda (hessonite). Pada bulan Kārttika, persembahkan pula pravāla (karang merah); dan pada bulan Mārgaśīrṣa juga, menurut amalan bulanan yang ditetapkan, agar paśu (jiwa yang terikat) memperoleh pahala yang menyokong pemujaan Śiva dan melonggarkan pāśa (belenggu) dengan rahmat Pati (Tuhan).
