Vidya Category: {"primary_vidya":"Jyotisha","secondary_vidya":"Cosmology","practical_application":"Interpreting strength and effects from Moon/Sun/Rahu placements in specified houses/divisions for timing and chart judgment.","sutra_style":true}

Encyclopedic Reference: {"reference_type":"Description","entry_title":"Chandra–Ravi–Rahu Sthana: Bala and Phala Indications","lookup_keywords":["Moon gives strength","Sun 10th 3rd 6th","Rahu 30th 6th","bala","graha-sthana"],"quick_summary":"Moon in the seventh and at a specified division is said to bestow strength; Sun is noted in the 10th/3rd/6th positions; Rahu is placed in the 30th and 6th—serving as compact placement-to-effect cues."}

Concept: Bala (strength) and outcomes are inferred from luminary and node placements; time and fate are read through patterned celestial positions.

Application: When assessing a muhurta or chart, check Moon’s positional strength first, then corroborate Sun and Rahu placements for vitality/obstruction themes.

Khanda Section: Jyotiṣa (Astronomy/Astrology: planetary positions and effects)

Primary Rasa: adbhuta

Secondary Rasa: shanta

Visual Art Cues: {"scene_description":"A night-sky diagram with Moon emphasized in the 7th house sector, Sun marked in 10th/3rd/6th sectors, and Rahu as a shadow node in the 6th; an astrologer measures divisions with a compass-like tool.","kerala_mural_prompt":"Kerala mural, stylized sky band with Chandra and Ravi as deities, Rahu as serpent-headed shadow, bhava wheel beneath, strong contrasting colors, ritualistic symmetry.","tanjore_prompt":"Tanjore painting, gold-highlighted Sun and Moon medallions, Rahu rendered with dramatic visage, gilded bhava sectors 3/6/7/10, ornate frame and temple-lamp motifs.","mysore_prompt":"Mysore style, clean instructional celestial chart, subtle gradients for sky, labeled house sectors, teacher demonstrating ‘bala’ with pointer, manuscript margins with neat annotations.","mughal_miniature_prompt":"Mughal miniature, observatory scene with quadrant/astrolabe, detailed star field, Sun and Moon discs, Rahu indicated near eclipse node, refined architectural backdrop."}

FAQs

Jyotiṣa-vidyā: it states specific positional placements (sthāna/saṃsthā) for the Moon, Sun, and Rāhu, and notes the Moon’s placement as a source of “bala” (strength), i.e., a rule used in assessing planetary strength and outcomes.

Alongside ritual, dharma, and other sciences, the Agni Purāṇa also preserves technical astrological heuristics—compact rules about graha placements and effects—showing its scope as a multi-disciplinary compendium.

By correctly understanding graha-strength and placements, one is guided toward auspicious timing and remedial conduct (right action aligned with cosmic order), which is traditionally linked with reducing obstacles and supporting dhārmic outcomes.
