Setelah mempersembahkan satu kumbha kepada Śivā bagi upacara yojanā (penyusunan), dan satu lagi kepada Śiva untuk menganugerahkan keteguhan (sthiratva), kemudian—sesudah mempersembahkan kumbha yang penuh—hendaklah dilakukan kumbhābhiṣeka, iaitu penyiraman suci dengan kendi bagi Śiva.
