FAQs

It teaches garbhādhāna-samskāra preparation: the couple should purify āhāra (diet) and bīja (generative seed) before conception, aiming at dharmic progeny and desired spiritual qualities.

Beyond mythology, it preserves applied dharma-ritual instructions—linking bodily discipline (diet/seed purification) with samskāra rites—showing the Purana’s coverage of household law, ritual technology, and progeny-ethics.

It frames conception as a sanctified act: purification and right intention are said to shape the child’s dharmic status (dvijatva) and divine disposition (Rudra-element), accruing merit through disciplined, rite-governed procreation.
