नत्वा तु गुरुणादिष्टं गृह्णीयान्नियमन्नरः चतुर्मासं त्रिमासं वा त्र्यहमेकाहमेव च

Setelah menunduk hormat kepada guru, seseorang hendaklah mengambil dan melaksanakan niyama/vrata sebagaimana diperintahkan—sama ada selama empat bulan, tiga bulan, tiga hari, ataupun hanya satu hari.
