Setelah dewa dipasang dengan sempurna, hendaklah ia dilaksanakan; dan pada tahun itu juga (sesudah pemasangan) [perayaan] boleh diadakan selama satu malam, tiga malam, atau lapan malam.”

FAQs

It introduces the yātrā-utsava (temple processional festival) rule: after a deity’s installation (pratiṣṭhā), the festival may be observed in that same year for a prescribed duration—one, three, or eight nights—under the guidance of the officiating guru.

It links two applied ritual domains—jīrṇoddhāra (repair/reconsecration) and utsava-yātrā (festival logistics)—showing the text’s practical coverage of temple administration, calendrical observances, and standardized durations for public worship events.

By prescribing timely utsava observance after installation, the verse frames festival worship as a means to stabilize the deity’s presence, sustain communal devotion, and accrue religious merit through properly regulated public ritual.
