केचिल्लोष्ठांस्तु सङ्गृह्य युयुधुर्गणनायकाः । अपरे मल्लयुद्धेन युयुधुर्बलदर्पिताः । एवं गणसहस्रेण वृतो देवो महेश्वरः ॥

काही गणनायक मातीचे ढेकळे गोळा करून युद्ध करू लागले; तर काही बलाच्या गर्वाने मल्लयुद्धाने भिडले. अशा रीतीने हजारो गणांनी वेढलेला देव महेश्वर उभा होता।
