प्रतिष्ठितवती चात्र यस्माल्लिंगं महोदयम् । त्वं सर्वसरितां श्रेष्ठा सर्वपातकनाशिनी । तस्माद्भैरवनामेति लिंगं ख्यातिं गमिष्यति

Transliteration

pratiṣṭhitavatī cātra yasmālliṃgaṃ mahodayam | tvaṃ sarvasaritāṃ śreṣṭhā sarvapātakanāśinī | tasmādbhairavanāmeti liṃgaṃ khyātiṃ gamiṣyati

Translation

कारण तू येथे अत्यंत मंगलमय महोदय-लिंगाची प्रतिष्ठा केलीस; म्हणून तू सर्व नद्यांमध्ये श्रेष्ठ आणि सर्व पापांचा नाश करणारी आहेस। त्यामुळे हे लिंग ‘भैरव’ या नावाने प्रसिद्ध होईल।
