Sūta (carried over from the opening of Adhyāya 70)
Tirtha: Mahā-kuṇḍa of Skanda (at Śakti-tīrtha)
Type: kund
Scene: A vast, crystal-clear pond bordered by steps; pilgrims bathe, then approach a spear-shrine to offer flowers and lamps; the atmosphere suggests instant cleansing and relief.
Purification is achieved through a combined discipline of tīrtha-bathing and reverent worship, rooted in Skanda’s sacred presence.
A ‘su-mahat-kuṇḍa’ (great sacred pond) connected with Kārttikeya and his Śakti at the same locale described in Adhyāya 70.
Perform snāna in the pond and then worship the Śakti; the result is immediate release from sins accumulated throughout life.
