न च त्याज्यं समुच्छिष्टं तेन भुंजामहे ततः । तदत्र कारणेनैव गुरुणा भाव्यमेव हि । येन त्वं यच्छसि प्राय एतत्सिद्धिर्भवेत्स्थिता
na ca tyājyaṃ samucchiṣṭaṃ tena bhuṃjāmahe tataḥ | tadatra kāraṇenaiva guruṇā bhāvyameva hi | yena tvaṃ yacchasi prāya etatsiddhirbhavetsthitā
हे ‘उच्छिष्ट’ म्हणून टाकून देण्यासारखे नाही; म्हणून आम्ही ते ग्रहण करतो. पण येथे नक्कीच काही गंभीर कारण आहे—ज्यामुळे तू नेहमी हे अर्पण करतोस—की हा अभिप्रेत विधी सिद्ध होऊन स्थिर व्हावा।
