काष्ठीभूतं तु तं ज्ञात्वा शिवः पस्पर्श पाणिना । महातपः समुद्भूत संतापामृतवर्षिणा
kāṣṭhībhūtaṃ tu taṃ jñātvā śivaḥ pasparśa pāṇinā | mahātapaḥ samudbhūta saṃtāpāmṛtavarṣiṇā
तो काष्ठासारखा जड-निश्चल झाला आहे असे जाणून शिवाने आपल्या हाताने त्यास स्पर्श केला—तो हात महातपातून उत्पन्न झालेल्या संतापावर अमृतवृष्टी करणारा होता।
