मार्कण्डेय उवाच । पुरा कृतयुगे राजन्मानसो ब्रह्मणः सुतः । वेदवेदाङ्गतत्त्वज्ञो मरीचिर्नाम नामतः
mārkaṇḍeya uvāca | purā kṛtayuge rājanmānaso brahmaṇaḥ sutaḥ | vedavedāṅgatattvajño marīcirnāma nāmataḥ
मार्कण्डेय म्हणाले—हे राजन्, प्राचीन कृतयुगात ब्रह्म्याचा मानसपुत्र, वेद व वेदाङ्गांचे तत्त्व जाणणारा ‘मरीचि’ नावाचा महर्षी होता.
