श्रीमार्कण्डेय उवाच । एतदाख्यानमतुलं पुण्यं श्रुतिमुखावहम् । पुराणे यच्छ्रुतं तात तत्ते वक्ष्याम्यशेषतः
śrīmārkaṇḍeya uvāca | etadākhyānamatulaṃ puṇyaṃ śrutimukhāvaham | purāṇe yacchrutaṃ tāta tatte vakṣyāmyaśeṣataḥ
श्रीमार्कण्डेय म्हणाले—हे आख्यान अतुल, परम पुण्यकारक व श्रवणास योग्य आहे। हे तात! पुराणांत जे काही मी ऐकले आहे, ते सर्व मी तुला काहीही न सोडता सांगतो।
