Suta Goswami

Tattva Level: pati

Shiva Form: Sadāśiva

Sthala Purana: Not a specific liṅga-sthala episode; the verse teaches Śiva’s sovereign ordinance (śāsana) over cosmic functions—creation, activation, and reabsorption—rather than a localized manifestation.

Significance: Establishes the doctrinal basis for worship: all cosmic processes are subordinate to Śiva’s will; contemplation of this sovereignty is said (in Śaiva Siddhānta framing) to mature the soul toward receptivity to anugraha (grace).

Cosmic Event: kalpa-cycle framing: creation/activation and end-time reabsorption (pralaya) implied

FAQs

It affirms Śiva as Pati—the sovereign Lord whose will alone governs creation, worldly activity, and final reabsorption, guiding the soul to surrender and liberation.

The Liṅga symbolizes the Lord who transcends yet governs all functions; worship of Saguna Śiva as Hara trains the devotee to recognize the one divine authority behind the universe’s arising and dissolution.

Contemplate Śiva as the inner ruler (īśvara-bhāvanā) while repeating the Pañcākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” offering the sense of doership into His command.
