It highlights Śiva as Pati—the compassionate Lord—whose anugraha (grace) uplifts even the highest gods; liberation and well-being ultimately depend on His benevolent will, not merely on status or power.
The verse portrays Saguna Śiva (Śaṅkara) as personally responsive and compassionate; Linga-worship is a direct means to seek this accessible grace, where the devotee approaches the Lord as dīna-vatsalaḥ, the refuge of the humble.
A practical takeaway is humble japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) with a prayer for anugraha, paired with simple Śiva-pūjā (water/bilva offering) as an expression of surrender and gratitude.
