Sukta 2.38
उदु ष्य देवः सविता सवाय शश्वत्तमं तदपा वह्निरस्थात् । नूनं देवेभ्यो वि हि धाति रत्नमथाभजद्वीतिहोत्रं स्वस्तौ ॥
údu ṣyá deváḥ savitā́ savā́ya śaśvat-tamáṃ tád apā́ vahnír asthāt | nūnáṃ devébhyo ví hí dhāti rátnam áthā́bhajad vīti-hótraṃ svastáu ||
प्रेरणा (सवाय) यासाठी तो देव सविता उगवून उभा राहतो; शाश्वत कर्मशील तो—जणू जलवाहक वह्नि—आपल्या स्थानी स्थिर झाला आहे. आता तो देवांसाठी रत्न-धनाचे विधान/वाटप करतो; मग स्वस्ति देणाऱ्या गतीत, सु-आहूत (वीतिहोत्र) हविर्भाग करतो.
