Sukta 2.28
मा नो वधैर्वरुण ये त इष्टावेनः कृण्वन्तमसुर भ्रीणन्ति । मा ज्योतिषः प्रवसथानि गन्म वि षू मृधः शिश्रथो जीवसे नः ॥
mā́ no vadháir varuṇa yé ta iṣṭā́v énaḥ kṛṇvántam asura bhrīṇánti | mā́ jyótiṣaḥ pra-vasáthāni ganma ví ṣū́ mṛ́dhaḥ śiśratho jīváse naḥ ||
हे वरुणा! हे असुरा, तुझ्या इष्ट-सेवेत रत असलेले लोक जेव्हा कर्त्यावर दोषारोप करतात, तेव्हा आम्हांला वधांनी मारू नकोस. ज्योतीपासून दूर असलेल्या त्या परवसथानी आम्ही जाऊ नये; आमच्या जीवितासाठी शत्रु शक्ती पूर्णपणे सैल कर, त्यांना छिन्न-भिन्न कर.
