Sukta 1.116
तद्वां नरा सनये दंस उग्रमाविष्कृणोमि तन्यतुर्न वृष्टिम् । दध्यङ्ह यन्मध्वाथर्वणो वामश्वस्य शीर्ष्णा प्र यदीमुवाच ॥
tád vāṃ narā sanáye dáṃsa ugrám āvíṣ kṛṇomi tanyatúr na vṛṣṭím | dadhyáṅ ha yán mádhvātharváṇo vā́m áśvasya śīrṣṇā́ prá yád īm uvā́ca ||
हे नरा (अश्विनौ)! विजय-प्राप्तीसाठी तुमचा तो उग्र दंस (पराक्रम) मी प्रकट करीत आहे—जसा तडित् वर्षेला दृश्य करतो. दध्यङ् अथर्वणाने अश्व-शीर्षातून तुम्हांला मधु-तत्त्व (मधुर सत्य) सांगितले, तेव्हा तुमचे गूढ ज्ञान विजयी प्रकाशन झाले.
