FAQs

It frames Kurukṣetra as a concentrated field of sacred tīrthas and establishes the proper approach to pilgrimage: humble inquiry to a qualified guru who can reveal the right ‘gati’ (spiritual direction) and the full map of holy observances.

Bhakti here appears as guru-centered surrender and eagerness to hear (śravaṇa): the seeker requests instruction rather than relying on mere travel, implying that devotion is perfected by guided listening and faithful practice at tīrthas.

The verse highlights the applied discipline of tīrtha-yātrā and ritual guidance under a teacher—knowledge closely tied to Kalpa (ritual procedure) and Dharmaśāstra-style instruction on where to go and what to do for accruing puṇya.
