FAQs

It highlights the Purāṇic method of transmitting dharma through inquiry: Bhāradvāja seeks precise knowledge about sacred divisions of time (śukla/kṛṣṇa), implying that correct understanding of kāla (ritual time) supports right conduct and tīrtha-related practice.

Indirectly, it shows that devotion is supported by disciplined observance—knowing the correct temporal divisions (bright/dark fortnights) helps a devotee align vratas, worship, and tīrtha practices with auspicious timing, strengthening steady bhakti.

Jyotiṣa Vedāṅga (Vedic calendrics/astronomy): the verse concerns identifying divisions like śukla and kṛṣṇa (fortnights) and their placement within a larger ‘pada’ framework, which is essential for scheduling vratas and ritual observances.
