बाह्याभ्यन्तरभेदेन शौचं तु द्विविधं स्मृतम् । मृज्जलाभ्यां बहिः शुद्धिर्भावशुद्धिस्तथान्तरम् ॥ १०० ॥

bāhyābhyantarabhedena śaucaṃ tu dvividhaṃ smṛtam | mṛjjalābhyāṃ bahiḥ śuddhirbhāvaśuddhistathāntaram || 100 ||

शौच दोन प्रकारचे मानले आहे—बाह्य व आंतरिक. माती व पाण्याने बाह्य शुद्धी, आणि भावशुद्धीने अंतःशुद्धी होते।
