FAQs

It emphasizes continuity (akhaṇḍatā) in spiritual observances: even small actions like walking a few steps or sipping water can count as a break, so the practitioner preserves the sanctity and focused intent of the vrata/japa.

Bhakti is supported by disciplined practice—guarding one’s vow and attention. The verse teaches that devotion is not only feeling but also careful observance that protects remembrance of the deity from casual interruption.

Kalpa (ritual procedure) is implied: it gives operational rules for conduct during vows—what counts as an interruption (e.g., movement, eating, drinking) and therefore how to keep a rite technically valid.
