ആശ്വയുജ മാസത്തിൽ ശുദ്ധ നവമിയിൽ ഉപവാസം അനുഷ്ഠിക്കണം. സപ്തമിയിൽ സംकल्पം ചെയ്ത്, അഷ്ടമിയിൽ സ്ഥിരമായി നിന്നുകൊണ്ട് നിയന്ത്രണം (നിരോധനം) പാലിക്കണം।
