यद्दुःखं तस्य दुर्बुद्धेः प्रतिकूलं च तस्य यत् ॥ तत्तदोत्पद्यते शीघ्रं यातनार्थाय यत्नतः ॥

ആ ദുർബുദ്ധിക്കുള്ള ഏത് ദുഃഖവും അവനോട് പ്രതികൂലമായതെല്ലാം—ശിക്ഷാർത്ഥമായ യാതനയായി പരിശ്രമപൂർവം വേഗത്തിൽ തന്നെ ഉദ്ഭവിക്കുന്നു।
