मृतस्य नाम चोद्दिश्य यस्यार्थे च प्रयोजितः॥ स्वर्गतस्येति संकल्प्य कृत्वा ब्राह्मणमन्दिरम्
mṛtasya nāma coddiśya yasyārthe ca prayojitaḥ || svargatasyeti saṅkalpya kṛtvā brāhmaṇa-mandiram
മരിച്ചവന്റെ നാമം ഉദ്ദേശിച്ച്, ആരുടെ നിമിത്തം ഈ കർമ്മം നടത്തപ്പെടുന്നുവോ അവനുവേണ്ടി, ‘സ്വർഗ്ഗഗതനുവേണ്ടി’ എന്നു സംकल्पിച്ച്, ബ്രാഹ്മണന്റെ മന്ദിരം/വാസസ്ഥലം (കർമ്മവേദി) ഒരുക്കണം.
