षष्ठान्नकालभोक्ता पयोव्रतेन महात्मना ॥ मानैर्व्रतेन सा देवी सूर्यगत्या स्थितेन च ॥

ṣaṣṭhānnakālabhoktā payovratena mahātmanā || mānair vratena sā devī sūryagatyā sthitena ca ||

അവൾ ഷഷ്ഠ അന്നകാലത്തിൽ ഭക്ഷണം കഴിക്കുന്നവളായിരുന്നു; മഹാത്മാവ് നിർദേശിച്ച പയോവ്രതത്താലും, നിയമ-മാനങ്ങളോടുകൂടി സൂര്യഗതിക്ക് അനുസൃതമായി നിലകൊള്ളുന്ന വ്രതത്താലും ആ ദേവി ശാസനത്തിൽ സ്ഥിരയായി നിന്നു.
