पुत्रकामा त्वियं बाला मुने तत्प्रब्रवीहि मे ॥ साम्बोऽयमिति च ज्ञात्वा स मुनिः कोपमूर्च्छितः ॥

putrakāmā tv iyaṃ bālā mune tatprabravīhi me || sāmbo'yam iti ca jñātvā sa muniḥ kopamūrcchitaḥ ||

‘ഈ ബാലികയ്ക്ക് പുത്രകാമനയുണ്ട്, മുനേ, എനിക്ക് പറഞ്ഞുതരിക’ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; ‘ഇത് സാംബയാണ്’ എന്നു തിരിച്ചറിഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ ആ മുനി കോപത്തിൽ മുങ്ങി।
