मूकः पञ्च च वर्षाणि बलीवर्दश्च द्वादश ॥ छागश्चैवाष्टवर्षाणि मासं वै ग्रामकुक्कुटः ॥
mūkaḥ pañca ca varṣāṇi balīvardaś ca dvādaśa || chāgaś caivāṣṭavarṣāṇi māsaṃ vai grāmakukkuṭaḥ ||
(അവർ) അഞ്ചു വർഷം മൂകനായി, പന്ത്രണ്ടു വർഷം കാളയായി, എട്ട് വർഷം ആടായി, കൂടാതെ ഒരു മാസം ഗ്രാമക്കോഴിയായി (കോഴി-ആൺ) ആയിരിക്കും.
