īśvara uvāca | iti dattvā varāndevastatraivāṃtaradhīyata | pṛthivīśvaranāmābhūttatprabhṛtyeva śaṃkaraḥ
Īśvara (Śiva)
Tirtha: Pṛthivīśvara (Prabhāsa-kṣetra)
Type: kshetra
Listener: Devī (Pārvatī)
Scene: Śiva, after granting boons, becomes subtle and vanishes at Prabhāsa; the radiant liṅga remains, now famed as Pṛthivīśvara, with devotees awed by the sudden antaradhāna.
Divine grace culminates in sacred naming—Śiva’s boons and presence consecrate the site and its Liṅga identity.
Prabhāsa-kṣetra, where Śiva is specifically known as Pṛthivīśvara.
No direct prescription; the verse provides speaker attribution and explains the emergence of the name Pṛthivīśvara.
