प्रतिष्ठितवती चात्र यस्माल्लिंगं महोदयम् । त्वं सर्वसरितां श्रेष्ठा सर्वपातकनाशिनी । तस्माद्भैरवनामेति लिंगं ख्यातिं गमिष्यति

Transliteration

pratiṣṭhitavatī cātra yasmālliṃgaṃ mahodayam | tvaṃ sarvasaritāṃ śreṣṭhā sarvapātakanāśinī | tasmādbhairavanāmeti liṃgaṃ khyātiṃ gamiṣyati

Translation

നീ ഇവിടെ മഹോദയമായ അത്യന്തം മംഗളകരമായ ലിംഗം പ്രതിഷ്ഠിച്ചതിനാൽ, നീ സർവ്വ നദികളിലും ശ്രേഷ്ഠയും സർവ്വപാപനാശിനിയും ആകുന്നു. അതുകൊണ്ട് ഈ ലിംഗം ‘ഭൈരവ’ എന്ന നാമത്തിൽ പ്രസിദ്ധമാകും।
