ईश्वर उवाच । पुरा दैत्यगणा रौद्रा बभूवुर्वरवर्णिनि । कालकेया इति ख्यातास्त्रैलोक्योच्छेदकारकाः
īśvara uvāca | purā daityagaṇā raudrā babhūvurvaravarṇini | kālakeyā iti khyātāstrailokyocchedakārakāḥ
ഈശ്വരൻ അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു—ഹേ വരവർണിനി, പൂർവ്വകാലത്ത് ഭീകരമായ ദൈത്യഗണങ്ങൾ ഉദിച്ചു; അവർ ‘കാലകേയർ’ എന്നു പ്രസിദ്ധർ, ത്രിലോക നാശത്തിന് കാരണമായവർ।
