अथ काले गते देवि शुष्यत्यंबु शनैःशनैः । विदित्वा क्षीयमाणास्ता अपो जलनिधिस्ततः
atha kāle gate devi śuṣyatyaṃbu śanaiḥśanaiḥ | viditvā kṣīyamāṇāstā apo jalanidhistataḥ
പിന്നീട്, ദേവീ, കാലം കഴിഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ ജലം പതുക്കെ പതുക്കെ വറ്റിത്തുടങ്ങി. ആ ജലങ്ങൾ ക്ഷയിക്കുന്നതായി അറിഞ്ഞ ജലനിധിയായ സമുദ്രൻ അപ്പോൾ വ്യാകുലനായി.
