तमात्तं विह्वलं दृष्ट्वा निषीदेत्यब्रुवन्किल । निषादो वंशकर्ता वै तेनाभूत्पृथुविक्रमः
tamāttaṃ vihvalaṃ dṛṣṭvā niṣīdetyabruvankila | niṣādo vaṃśakartā vai tenābhūtpṛthuvikramaḥ
അവനെ ഭയത്തിൽ വിറച്ച് വ്യാകുലനായതായി കണ്ടു അവർ “ഇരിക്ക” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു എന്നു കേൾക്കപ്പെടുന്നു. അതിനാൽ അവൻ ‘നിഷാദൻ’ എന്ന പേരിൽ പ്രസിദ്ധനായി വംശപ്രവർത്തകനായി; ആ വംശത്തിൽ നിന്നു പരാക്രമിയായ പൃഥു ഉദിച്ചു.
