ṛṣaya ūcuḥ | yadi tuṣṭo mahādeva sthalakeśvaranāmabhṛt | avalokayaṃśca nagaraṃ sadā tiṣṭha sthale hara
Ṛṣis (Sages)
Tirtha: Sthalakeśvara (at Sthalaka)
Type: kshetra
Listener: Mahādeva (Śiva)
Scene: Sages, hands folded, request Mahādeva—named Sthalakeśvara—to remain forever in that place, watching over the city like an eternal sentinel.
A kṣetra becomes spiritually potent when the deity is invoked to abide there as the ever-present guardian and witness.
Sthalaka/Sthalakeśvara within Prabhāsa-kṣetra, presented as a place of Śiva’s abiding presence.
No formal rite is prescribed; the verse emphasizes invocation (prārthanā) for divine residence and protection.
