ईश्वर उवाच । ततो गच्छेन्महादेवि गोपालस्वामिनं हरिम् । चण्डीशात्पूर्वदिग्भागे धनुषां विंशतौ स्थितम्

ഈശ്വരൻ അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു—ഹേ മഹാദേവി! തുടർന്ന് ഗോപാലസ്വാമി എന്ന ഹരിയിലേക്കു പോകണം. അദ്ദേഹം ചണ്ഡീശനിൽ നിന്ന് കിഴക്കുദിക്കിൽ ഇരുപത് ധനുഷ് ദൂരത്തിൽ സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നു।
