प्रणम्य शिरसा सर्वे तामूचुस्ते सुमध्यमाम् । उमे कथय कुत्रस्थं द्रक्ष्यामो रुद्रमेकदा
praṇamya śirasā sarve tāmūcuste sumadhyamām | ume kathaya kutrasthaṃ drakṣyāmo rudramekadā
എല്ലാവരും ശിരസ്സ് നമിച്ച് ആ സുമധ്യയായ ദേവിയോട് പറഞ്ഞു— “ഹേ ഉമാ, രുദ്രൻ എവിടെയാണ് വസിക്കുന്നത്? ഞങ്ങൾ കുറഞ്ഞത് ഒരിക്കൽ എങ്കിലും അദ്ദേഹത്തെ ദർശിക്കുവാൻ പറയുക.”
