ईश्वर उवाच । पितामहवचः श्रुत्वा बाढमित्येव सागरः । ब्राह्मणेभ्यः सुरत्नानि ददौ श्रद्धा समन्वितः
īśvara uvāca | pitāmahavacaḥ śrutvā bāḍhamityeva sāgaraḥ | brāhmaṇebhyaḥ suratnāni dadau śraddhā samanvitaḥ
ഈശ്വരൻ അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു: പിതാമഹൻ (ബ്രഹ്മാവ്) പറഞ്ഞതു കേട്ട് സമുദ്രം ‘ബാഢം’ (തഥാസ്തു) എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; ശ്രദ്ധയോടെ ബ്രാഹ്മണർക്കു ഉത്തമ രത്നങ്ങൾ ദാനമായി നൽകി।
