तस्य दानस्य यत्पुण्यं तदस्माकं प्रजायते । यस्मिन्गृहे सदोच्छिष्टं सदा च कलहो भवेत् । वैश्वदेवविहीने तु तत्र भुंजामहे वयम्
tasya dānasya yatpuṇyaṃ tadasmākaṃ prajāyate | yasmingṛhe sadocchiṣṭaṃ sadā ca kalaho bhavet | vaiśvadevavihīne tu tatra bhuṃjāmahe vayam
ആ ദാനത്തിൽ നിന്നു ജനിക്കുന്ന പുണ്യം ഞങ്ങളുടെ (പ്രേതങ്ങളുടെ) ഭാഗമാകുന്നു। ഏതു വീട്ടിൽ എപ്പോഴും ഉച്ഛിഷ്ടം കിടക്കുകയും എപ്പോഴും കലഹം ഉണ്ടാകുകയും, വൈശ്വദേവം ഉപേക്ഷിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നുവോ—അവിടെയാണ് ഞങ്ങൾ ഭുജിക്കുന്നത്।
