तेन दृष्टस्तदा बालः प्रांगणे विचरन्प्रिये । स्मृत्वाऽहसच्चिरं कालं भाव्यर्थं प्रति नोदितः
tena dṛṣṭastadā bālaḥ prāṃgaṇe vicaranpriye | smṛtvā'hasacciraṃ kālaṃ bhāvyarthaṃ prati noditaḥ
പ്രിയേ! ആ ജ്ഞാനി പ്രാങ്ഗണത്തിൽ സഞ്ചരിച്ചിരുന്ന ബാലനെ കണ്ടു. ദീർഘകാലം സ്മരിച്ചു, വരാനിരിക്കുന്ന കാര്യത്തെക്കുറിച്ച് അന്തരത്തിൽ പ്രേരിതനായി.
