दौहित्रं खड्गमित्युक्तं ललाटे शृङ्गमस्ति यत् । तस्य शृंगस्य यत्पात्रं तद्दौहित्रमिति स्मृतम्
dauhitraṃ khaḍgamityuktaṃ lalāṭe śṛṅgamasti yat | tasya śṛṃgasya yatpātraṃ taddauhitramiti smṛtam
ലലാടത്തിൽ ശൃംഗമുള്ള ‘ഖഡ്ഗ’ മൃഗത്തെയാണ് ‘ദൗഹിത്ര’ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞത്. അതിന്റെ ശൃംഗത്തിൽ നിന്നുണ്ടാക്കിയ പാത്രം ‘ദൗഹിത്ര’ എന്നു സ്മൃതമാണ്.
