भावित्वात्कर्मणो देवि दक्षस्याज्ञाव्यतिक्रमात् । समं वर्त्तस्व भार्याभिरित्युक्तः शशलांछनः
bhāvitvātkarmaṇo devi dakṣasyājñāvyatikramāt | samaṃ varttasva bhāryābhirityuktaḥ śaśalāṃchanaḥ
ഹേ ദേവി, ഭവിതവ്യമായ കർമ്മഫലത്താലും ദക്ഷന്റെ ആജ്ഞ ലംഘിച്ചതിനാലും ‘ശശലാഞ്ഛന’ ചന്ദ്രനോട്—“ഭാര്യകളോടു സമമായി പെരുമാറുക” എന്നു കല്പിക്കപ്പെട്ടു.
