अस्मिन्मन्वन्तरे क्षिप्तः सागरैश्च चतुर्दिशम् । तस्येदं कीर्तितं देवि नाम सागरसंज्ञितम्
asminmanvantare kṣiptaḥ sāgaraiśca caturdiśam | tasyedaṃ kīrtitaṃ devi nāma sāgarasaṃjñitam
ഹേ ദേവി, ഈ മന്വന്തരത്തിൽ അവൻ നാലുദിക്കുകളിലേക്കും സാഗരങ്ങളാൽ ക്ഷിപ്തനായി വ്യാപിച്ചു; അതുകൊണ്ട് ഈ സ്ഥലം ‘സാഗര’ എന്ന നാമത്തിൽ കീര്ത്തിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു.
