ईश्वर उवाच । अलं नामसहस्रेण पठस्वैवं शुभं स्तवम् । यानि गुह्यानि नामानि पवित्राणि शुभानि च । तानि ते कीर्तयिष्यामि प्रयत्नादवधारय
īśvara uvāca | alaṃ nāmasahasreṇa paṭhasvaivaṃ śubhaṃ stavam | yāni guhyāni nāmāni pavitrāṇi śubhāni ca | tāni te kīrtayiṣyāmi prayatnādavadhāraya
ഈശ്വരൻ പറഞ്ഞു— നാമസഹസ്രം മതി; അതിന് പകരം ഈ ശുഭസ്തവം പാരായണം ചെയ്യുക. ഗുഹ്യവും പവിത്രവും മംഗളകരവുമായ നാമങ്ങൾ ഞാൻ നിനക്കു പ്രസ്താവിക്കും; നീ പരിശ്രമത്തോടെ ശ്രദ്ധിച്ചു ഗ്രഹിക്കണം।
