अथवा तेन देवेशि प्रभासमिति कीर्त्यते । प्रकृष्टा भारती ब्राह्मी विप्रोक्ता श्रूयतेऽध्वनि । सदा यत्र महादेवि प्रभासं तेन कीर्तितम्
athavā tena deveśi prabhāsamiti kīrtyate | prakṛṣṭā bhāratī brāhmī viproktā śrūyate'dhvani | sadā yatra mahādevi prabhāsaṃ tena kīrtitam
അഥവാ ആ കാരണത്താലും, ദേവേശീ, ഇത് ‘പ്രഭാസ’ എന്നു കീർത്തിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു. വഴിയിൽ വിപ്രന്മാർ ഉച്ചരിച്ച ബ്രാഹ്മീ, പ്രകൃഷ്ട ഭാരതി (പവിത്ര വാക്ക്) ശ്രവിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു; എവിടെ സദാ പ്രഭ നിലകൊള്ളുന്നുവോ, മഹാദേവീ, അതുകൊണ്ടു ‘പ്രഭാസ’ എന്നു പ്രസിദ്ധം.
