ब्राह्मणाय प्रदातव्यं श्रोत्रियाय महात्मने । विष्णुना हि पुरा पृष्टं ब्रह्मणः स्तोत्रमुत्त्मम्
brāhmaṇāya pradātavyaṃ śrotriyāya mahātmane | viṣṇunā hi purā pṛṣṭaṃ brahmaṇaḥ stotramuttmam
ഇത് ബ്രാഹ്മണനു—വേദജ്ഞനായ ശ്രോത്രിയ മഹാത്മാവിനു—നൽകേണ്ടതാണ്. കാരണം പുരാതനകാലത്ത് വിഷ്ണു ബ്രഹ്മാവിന്റെ ഈ ഉത്തമസ്തോത്രത്തെക്കുറിച്ച് ചോദിച്ചിരുന്നു.
