पूर्वं कृतयुगस्यांते बलिना च पुरंदरः । निर्जित्य भ्रंशितः स्थानात्तदर्थं मधुसूदनः
pūrvaṃ kṛtayugasyāṃte balinā ca puraṃdaraḥ | nirjitya bhraṃśitaḥ sthānāttadarthaṃ madhusūdanaḥ
പൂർവ്വം കൃതയുഗാന്തത്തിൽ ബലിയുടെ കൈയ്യാൽ പുരന്ദരനായ ഇന്ദ്രൻ ജയിക്കപ്പെട്ടു സ്ഥാനഭ്രഷ്ടനായി; ആ ഹേതുവാൽ ധർമ്മസ്ഥാപനാർത്ഥം മധുസൂദനൻ ഇടപെട്ടു।
